ATL Office TRANSFORMATION WITH PURPOSEFUL REPURPOSING
Coxe Curry & Associates is an Atlanta consulting firm creating strategies and connections that help nonprofits thrive. Coxe Curry was seeking a modern, fresh, and open office redesign while aiming to reuse as much of their existing workstation products as possible to help manage the budget. They wanted to introduce a "free address" system to encourage flexibility in how their teams utilized the space. To help the client realize the full potential of their workspace, the CE team alongside HLG and Colliers focused on enhancing the natural light in the space by recommending low-horizon workstations. This allowed light to flow freely, capitalizing on the incredible floor-to-ceiling windows that provided breathtaking views of the atrium. By repurposing their existing Cherryman and Knoll storage, the team blended old and new pieces, allowing them to allocate more of their budget toward creating vibrant gathering areas.
TECHNOLOGY
We encouraged the client to think outside the box by showcasing multiple design options. The introduction of Antenna workstations, which were a major shift from traditional panel systems, helped open the space and modernize the office. In a small huddle room, when the client requested a specific furniture piece that didn’t quite fit, we crafted a creative alternative by using overhead storage to create a sleek, floating credenza, giving the room both functionality and style.
One of the biggest challenges was maintaining the client's desired fresh and modern look while staying within budget and repurposing existing furniture. Through a series of collaborative discussions and live design sessions, the CE team guided the client in understanding how to effectively mix existing items with new, modern elements to achieve their desired outcome. Late decisions surrounding AV components also created some logistical hurdles, but through careful planning and collaboration with HLG, we were able to overcome these obstacles seamlessly.
This project was marked by strong collaboration, both within our team, partners, and client. This project exemplified our commitment to thoughtful, creative solutions that respect both design and budget. By repurposing existing furniture, encouraging fresh possibilities, and working collaboratively, we successfully delivered a bright, modern office space that met the client's goals and showcased the value of purposeful repurposing.
