May 19, 2016

At the annual Design Excellence Awards hosted by the Georgia chapter of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), Corporate Environments spring intern, Kayley Barker, was awarded the prestigious Grace Jordan Howard Scholarship. Each year, one Junior or Senior student in Georgia is awarded this honor. Along with a $5,000 scholarship, Kayley was also awarded a 3 month paid internship with Mohawk group and an all expense paid trip to Neocon (a North American design exposition and conference for commercial interiors).

Grace Jordan Howard served as the Georgia Chapter Administrator for the American Society of Interior Designers for 18 years. As chapter administrator, Grace guided and assisted interior design students. After Grace’s passing of ovarian cancer this foundation and scholarship was created to provide annual scholarships to student members of ASID who demonstrate chapter and community involvement, design excellence and high academic standards.

Kayley, a rising senior at the University of Georgia (UGA), joined our internship program this past spring. She has been a valued asset to assist our project design team and exudes a positive attitude and energy within the office. Kayley is very active within the community serving as the Secretary of the ASID chapter at UGA and also participates in an annual fundraiser, UGA Miracle, benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Congratulations Kaley on this prestigious honor!
