Piedmont Eastside Hospital Lobby: Creating a First Impression That Reflects Exceptional Care

Year: 2023 | Location: Snellville | Partners: Levino Jones

The first few moments inside a healthcare facility can shape a visitor's entire experience. Piedmont Eastside Hospital recognized that its main lobby no longer reflected the quality of care, comfort, and hospitality patients and families experience throughout the hospital. Through a thoughtful renovation, the hospital transformed its front door into a welcoming environment that supports patients, visitors, and staff while reinforcing its commitment to exceptional care.

As a trusted healthcare provider serving a growing community, Piedmont Eastside Hospital understood that the patient experience begins long before a clinical interaction takes place. However, the existing lobby environment felt dated and lacked the warmth, functionality, and visual appeal needed to support today's expectations for healthcare hospitality.

The hospital needed a space that could better accommodate high daily visitor traffic while creating a more welcoming and reassuring arrival experience. The goal was clear: transform the lobby into a modern, patient-centered environment that enhanced comfort, reduced stress, and aligned with the organization's reputation for quality care.

To help bring this vision to life, Piedmont Eastside Hospital partnered with Corporate Environments and design partner Levino Jones. Working alongside the project team, Corporate Environments provided guidance on finish selections, coordinated furniture solutions, and ensured every decision supported both the aesthetic vision and the practical demands of a healthcare setting. The team focused on creating a cohesive experience that balanced durability, accessibility, and comfort while supporting the hospital's operational needs and long-term goals.

Like many complex healthcare projects, the renovation encountered an unexpected challenge during installation. A manufacturer produced an incorrect plinth base for modular seating, resulting in seat heights that were two inches lower than specified. While seemingly minor, proper seating height is essential in healthcare environments where accessibility, safety, and patient comfort directly impact the user experience.

Recognizing the importance of resolving the issue quickly, Corporate Environments immediately coordinated with the manufacturer to identify the root cause and implement a corrective action plan. New bases were manufactured, delivered, and installed within three weeks. To minimize disruption to patients, visitors, and staff, all corrective work was completed after business hours. The proactive response ensured the space met accessibility requirements, maintained user comfort, and kept the overall project experience positive for the client.

Piedmont Eastside Hospital's renovated lobby delivers a significantly improved arrival experience that reflects the organization's commitment to compassionate care. Visitors are welcomed into a space that feels modern, approachable, and thoughtfully designed. The completed renovation delivered meaningful improvements that reinforced Piedmont Eastside Hospital's commitment to exceptional care, including:

  • Enhanced the patient and visitor experience through a more welcoming and hospitality-driven arrival environment.

  • Improved accessibility, comfort, and usability within a high-traffic public space.

  • Minimized operational disruption by resolving installation challenges without impacting daily hospital activities.

  • Reinforced Piedmont Eastside Hospital's brand and commitment to quality care through a modernized front-of-house experience.

  • Established a strong foundation for an ongoing partnership built on responsiveness, accountability, and problem-solving.

Piedmont Eastside Hospital set out to create a lobby experience that matched the excellence of care delivered throughout its facility. By partnering with Levino Jones and Corporate Environments, the hospital successfully transformed an outdated entry space into an environment that supports comfort, accessibility, and hospitality from the moment visitors arrive.

More than a renovation, the project delivered a stronger first impression, an enhanced user experience, and a space that better reflects the hospital's mission of serving patients and families with care and compassion.
